Measuring Happiness in the UK

Guess who's following in the footsteps of Bhutan and other aspiring happy nations? The United Kingdom is now planning to utilize a happiness index! In the hopes of influencing government policy-making using factors beyond GDP, the UK is on the road to making happiness a priority.

According to The Guardian, a survey of 200,000 UK residents will include questions like "How happy did you feel yesterday?" and '"To what extent do you feel the things you do in your life are worthwhile?" The results will be published next July.

What kinds of questions do you think would be helpful on a survey like this for your own country? What makes a country (and each individual resident) happy?
