Meet Sandi Herrera, our Culture Ops Diva.

Where shes's from. I grew up in Big Bear, a small mountain community in Southern California.  I have lived in Las Vegas since 1998.

Sandi and DH teammate, Clair

Her background. I graduated from California Lutheran University with a dual emphasis BS in Management & Marketing. I was introduced to Tony Hsieh in early 2010 when I was working as a real estate broker.  When DH was first getting started, I reached out to Tony and offered to help in any way I could because I was/am so passionate about teaching others that they can find happiness in their lives through pursuing their passions, connecting, and creating meaningful experiences. I began part time, helping DH@work with their sales structure and in August 2011, I moved into operations where I enjoy helping our team grow and be successful.

What she does at DH.I'm the Culture Ops Diva at DH, responsible for internal culture and operations as well as overall project management.  I love working with such a passionate amazing group of people who inspire me every day with their creativity and willingness to go above and beyond in all that they do.

How working at DH brings happiness to her. I am happiest when I am connecting with our team as we help each other grow and create ways to spread more happiness in the world.  I also enjoy sharing our mission with people who may or may not know what DH is all about.

Sandi and son, Hunter

On important things:I enjoy spending time with my 10-year-old son, Hunter and watching him play baseball.  I also enjoy yoga, hiking, entertaining and time with friends and family. I've been skiing since I was 5 and love it!

A happy childhood memory. I was in a snow skiing race when I was about 10, I remember going so fast down the hill and feeling so great until I crossed the finish line and crashed!  I was okay and actually got up laughing...I ended up winning first place that year!

Something in childhood that said "future Culture Ops Diva"? I was always involved in leadership roles throughout my childhood, up to becoming Senior Class President.  I also look up to my dad as my greatest mentor who recently retired as Chief Deputy of LA County Fire Department; he worked his way up from starting just before I was born as a firefighter.  I always remember him studying and working to improve himself and create the best life possible for himself and for us.  He is also a private pilot and even in his retirement years he is working to achieve more qualifications to fly bigger and better airplanes.  He always says that we never should stop learning or growing, it's what keeps us young!

If there is one thing she could change to make the world a happier place . . . I would make helping students find their passion a requirement in schools.

Her happy place. Any beach, as long as it's got sand and waves and a beautiful open ocean.

Something weird that brings her happiness. Having ice cream (well rice dream for me) in bed with my son.

Enjoying one of her passions

Happy movie pick. Hoodwinked ~ Twitchy cracks me up every time! :)

Happy song / music choices. Build me up Buttercup, The Foundations, Enrique Iglesias. My iPod has such a huge variety . . . I love almost all types of music and believe that music has the ability to impact your mood if you allow yourself to feel it.

Favorite quote.Gratitude is everything! No matter what is going on, when I remember what I am grateful for, my world is AMAZING! -me

What teammate and Happy Helper Cristine Miller says about Sandi: "Sandi is a great asset to Delivering Happiness.  She brings lots of positive energy and is always there to lend a helping hand!"
